With the rollout of COVID-19 vaccines, many are starting to think about traveling. FOX43 sat down with local travel agent, Vickie Everhart, the Chief Experience Officer at Krouse Travel in York County, to find out what trends she expects to see this year.
Everhart says all-inclusive resorts are topping the list of vacation ideas in 2021. "All-inclusives are probably the biggest request we have right now, for two reasons. One is that there are all-inclusives available throughout the [Caribbean] islands and Mexico." The second she says is regarding Coronavirus restrictions. Unlike many parts of Europe and Asia, those locations are still allowing folks to into their borders. They also have strict safety guidelines to keep tourists safe.
Road trips are the second most in-demand vacation option right now., particularly for multi-generational families that are not ready to fly. Everhart adds, whether it is by land or by air, safety should be front of mind when making travel plans. "Restrictions and protocols change frequently," she says. It is the job of a professional travel agency or travel expert to stay up to date with all the changes and keep you informed. Everhart suggests contacting one of the pros to help you through the ins and outs of planning a trip during this time.
As far as when to book to get the most bang for your buck, Everhart says the sooner the better. She expects that, as demand goes up, so will prices.
