JUNIATA COUNTY, Pa. — Storms swept through central Pennsylvania last night, leaving residents to wake up and pick up the pieces.
Juniata County was hit especially hard. The damage is widespread, from downed trees and sinkholes to collapsed buildings and torn-up roads.
FOX43 teams assessing the damage found cleanup crews out and about all morning, including at Hunters Creek near Port Royal. The bridge that carries Route 75 over the waterway has pieces of the pavement peeled up in spots and debris strewn across it.
Route 75 is closed between Tuscarora Mountain Road and Book Road, according to 511PA.
Rising water also dumped uprooted trees and debris around the banks of the river. A deep hole opened up to one side, filled with water.
