PENNSYLVANIA, USA — The FOX43 Weather Team has issued a Weather Impact Alert Wednesday for dangerous heat. During peak hours, about 11 A.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday, high heat and high humidity could lead to heat-related illnesses.
A Heat Advisory begins at 11 A.M. and lasts through 8 P.M. for the entire area. Wednesday afternoon high temperatures reach the lower to middle 90s. The humidity is even higher too, and this makes feels-like numbers range between 98 to 105 degrees. The most uncomfortable time of day is the afternoon and early evening.
A stray storm or two could produce damaging winds later during the afternoon and into the early evening, but most should stay dry. Heat and humidity add enough fuel to make Wednesday’s severe weather threat a level 2 out of 5 risk.
It’s best to avoid strenuous outdoor activities during peak heating and stay hydrated. If you must be outdoors, take frequent breaks in the shade. However, indoor breaks are preferable. Wear loose, light-colored clothing to also help keep cool. Stay with the FOX43 Weather Impact Team for more updates as they come!
