Weather Impact Alert declared for high heat, humidity

The primary impact is high heat and humidity that makes for dangerous feels-like numbers that could lead to heat-related illnesses, but stronger storms are possible.

PENNSYLVANIA, USA — The FOX43 Weather Impact Team declared Weather Impact Alert Days today through Wednesday. The primary impact is high heat and humidity that makes for dangerous feels-like numbers that could lead to heat-related illnesses, but stronger storms are possible too.

An EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING is in effect for Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York counties from 12 P.M. Monday through 8 P.M. Tuesday. Feels-like numbers peak between 105 to 110 degrees. A HEAT ADVISORY then takes over starting 8 P.M. Tuesday through 8 P.M. Wednesday as feels-like numbers climb near 100 degrees through the middle of the week.

A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect for Mifflin and Juniata counties from 12 P.M. Monday to 8 P.M. Tuesday. There are no alerts for Mifflin and Juniata counties on Wednesday. 

Stay hydrated and find ways to keep cool to avoid heat-related illnesses.

A few showers and thunderstorms are possible again both Monday and Tuesday afternoon through early evening. Storms have the potential to produce damaging wind gusts and torrential downpours Monday. There’s a level 2 out of 5 threat Monday for areas north and northwest of Harrisburg. The rest of the area is a level 1 out of 5 threat. Tuesday’s highest threat shifts more northwest, with a level 2 out of 5 threat for Mifflin County. A level 1 out of 5 threat extends southeast, including Juniata, Perry, Dauphin, Lebanon, Cumberland, and Franklin counties. Small portions of Adams, York, and Lancaster counties are also included. Secure loose outdoor objects before storms develop. Seek shelter immediately if you hear thunder or see lightning.
