PENNSYLVANIA, USA — The FOX43 Weather Impact Team has issued a Weather Impact Alert for Sunday afternoon and evening as part of the area sees a wintry mix arriving.
Some wet snow and sleet are possible by the afternoon Sunday before changing to rain late in the evening, especially north of the turnpike and closer to the mountains west of I-81. Roads may be slick at times with a minor accumulation of a coating to two inches possible for those higher elevations.
Showers will arrive from southwest to northeast through the early afternoon Sunday, becoming likely through the evening. Areas such as Lancaster and York counties primarily see rain arriving through the afternoon, with perhaps a brief start of wet snow/sleet with little to no accumulation. Most of the wintry mix lingers closer to the mountains.
Areas along and north of the turnpike and west of I-81 will likely see some wet snow falling through the afternoon before gradually changing to sleet and then rain later in the evening. Take it slow for any Sunday afternoon and night travels with some wet roads still possible Monday morning after the wintry mix changes to rain showers.
