PENNSYLVANIA, USA — As a backdoor cold front moves through the region, the risk for storms this evening has escalated.
This has led to a Weather Impact Alert being issued for the risk of heavy rainfall and damaging wind gusts.
The chance for storms will be through the evening and early overnight.
Not everyone will get storms, but those that do form have the potential to drop heavy rainfall. Some spots could see an inch or two. The greatest risk for heavy rain concerns is for areas west of Harrisburg.
Franklin, Cumberland, Perry, Juniata, and Mifflin counties are under a flood watch until midnight.
We'll also watch for damaging winds with gusts as high as 65 mph with storms that form.
The chance for any severe storms diminishes overnight, leading to a cloudy and dreary Friday. There's still a chance for a few showers Friday, though they are not anticipated to become severe.
