  • Man who shot Harrisburg Police K-9 Zeke is identified

    We now know the name of the man killed by police in Dauphin County Friday night. Dauphin County DA Ed Marsico confirms 20-year-old Skyler Stewart was the suspect being sought by police in Lower Paxton Township. Stewart shot Harrisburg K-9 officer Zeke in the neck, and was then shot and killed by police. Zeke underwent surgery and is doing well. He is expected to be released from the emergency veterinary clinic this week.  

  • Seton Hill freshman remains in serious condition at Penn State Hershey Medical Center

    Seton Hill lacrosse player Amanda Michalski remains in the hospital after a bus carrying the women’s lacrosse team crashed on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Saturday. She is listed in serious condition at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Michalski is one of two victims from the accident still admitted to Penn State Hershey. Hospital officials have not yet released the name of the second patient. According to the university’s website, Michalski is a freshman from Coon Rapids, Minnesota.

  • Vinny’s Kids 5K race takes off from City Island

    The sixth annual Vinny’s Kids 5K race took off Sunday from City Island. Walkers and runners took part to raise money for Vinny’s Kids, a charity started in 2004 to provide entertainment for sick children during their hospital stays. “The thing that’s very refreshing, pretty inspiring is the fact that this is for children and the fact that we have so many youth volunteers is really cool,” said Vinny Cherry, who founded the charity.

  • Celtic Classic dog show draws thousands to York County

    Hundreds of people packed the York Expo Center Sunday for the Celtic Classic dog show. The event benefits the York Kennel Club and draws people from all over the world.   • Police make several arrests at York County sobriety checkpoint

    State and local police made several arrests at a DUI checkpoint in York County Saturday night.   • Driver, head coach killed in Pa. Turnpike bus crash

    A tragic bus crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike killed two people and hurt several others Saturday morning. The bus was carrying the Seton Hill University women’s lacrosse team to Millersville for a game when it crashed near eastbound mile marker 227 in Cumberland County. “It struck a guardrail, went off the roadway, traveled through a patch of grass approximately 70 yards or so before impacting a tree,” said Trooper Robert Hicks of the Pennsylvania State Police.
