    HARRISBURG, Pa.–The state Department of Environmental Protection announced Thursday  they are fining Sunoco Pipeline, LLP $12.6 million for permit violations related to the construction of the Mariner East 2 pipeline project.  The penalty is one of the largest civil penalties collected in in a single settlement, according to the state agency.   • Pennsylvania Fire Commissioner resigns

    HARRISBURG, Pa.– Pennsylvania’s Fire Commissioner has resigned, according to Governor Tom Wolf’s office. According to Pennlive, Tim Solobay’s abrupt resignation came after a sexual harassment allegation surfaced during his prior service as a state senator. Pennlive reports a woman who worked for Solobay when he was in the Senate filed a sexual harassment complaint against him in 2011.     WEST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa.–The investigation continues after a 36-year-old woman was killed following a four-vehicle crash along Route 30 in Lancaster County on Thursday.     PENN TOWNSHIP, LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa.–Thinking his grandson was in trouble, a Lancaster County man was duped out of $4,000 in a grandparent scam.   • 7 guns stolen from Adams County gun store

    HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP, ADAMS COUNTY, Pa.–Pennsylvania State Police are investigating after someone stole seven firearms from an Adams County gun store. It happened Monday at Condition One Weapons located along the 3200 block of Fairfield Road in Highland Township. Investigators say the suspect removed an air conditioning unit in order to gain access to the building. No other details were immediately available.

  • Round of ammunition found inside Hershey Middle School, police investigate threat

    DERRY TOWNSHIP, DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa.–Derry Township police say a round of ammunition was found inside Hershey Middle School on Wednesday. Around the same time, administrators at Derry Township School District notified authorities about reports of a student alluding to a school shooting, according to police reports. Police say at this point there does not appear to be evidence of a direct, actionable threat to Hershey Middle School or the Derry Township School District campus. An investigation is ongoing.
