Just before 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve, Harrisburg Police were dispatched to the Family Dollar Store on the 400 block of South Cameron Street for a robbery. Store clerks said the suspect, 41-year old Kevin Lambert, had been walking around the store, filling his coat with stolen items.

When one of the clerks confronted Lambert, he shoved her and ran toward the exit. A second clerk tried to stop him but he shoved her aside as well and fled the store. The witness, a 38-year old Harrisburg man, chased after Lambert and saw him running north on Cameron Street.

He jumped in his car and followed Lambert until he was able to get out and tackle him to the ground. The man held Lambert down until police officers arrived on the scene and put him in handcuffs. All the items stolen from the Family Dollar Store were recovered.

Harrisburg Police are still investigating and anyone with information is asked to contact Lieutenant Robert Fegan at 717-255-3114 o r email rfeagan@cityofhbg.com.
