gonna bet the shooter is an idiot, not licensed to have a firearm, more than likely a known associate of the victim, probably broke……and the victim is prolly a good guy that was unarmed….because a weapons ban is the answer

A good friend of mine lost her brother, years ago as a result of a shooting inside a K mart in Ohio. I will not mention this to her, or share this article with her, and I hope that she does not see it. Because even though it happened more than 8 years ago, any recollection of that day still brings back awful memories and causes massive sadness and depression for her.

If you have no idea what you're talking about or have no information other than what you are reading on the internet please do us all a favor and keep your mouth shut. We should be concerned with the families who have been affected by this incident as well as the family that have lost a member this evening. NOT what the heading will be on tomorrow’s tabloid. Please leave the jokes on Facebook.

cathi – if a police officer cannot subdue a suspect with a TASER, and there is danger to the officer or any civilians, they have no choice but to shoot

Overkill? How much would you want them to do if you and your family were shopping there when someone comes in with a knife threatening people, resists arre4st, and threatens to shoot people, then starts to reach for something in a pocket?

IF YOU PULL A GUN ON A COP YOU MUST WANT TO DIE IM SURE THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY OPTION BUT TO RETURN FIRE I FELL SORRY FOR THE OFFICERS THAT WERE PUT IN THIS POSTION

Michelle – There was a case in DC were a suspect charged at an Officer from 40 yards away, the Officers shot the suspect in the right shoulder, abdomen, left leg and chest. The suspect continue and knocked the Officer to the ground and proceeded to stab the Officer. The last shot went through the Officer's foot and through the suspects heart killing him. What drugs was he on? None – pure adrenaline. Maybe 5 rounds was not required, but put yourself in the Officer's position. Law Enforcement personnel are trained to stop the threat.

Don't critize law enforcement they are there to protect other people who were in store at time. U people always presume the police just do this for the fun it…..let them protect and serve.

Until you do the job, you have no place to comment. If they didn't do anything and the guy hurt someone, then you would be complaining that the cops weren't doing their job. Grow up. The world is not what it used to be.

The man didn't have a gun. Police shot him 6 times. Say what you will but something is wrong. I don't think police are hired to show up places and kill people who "could have harmed people". People who defend police like this are pretty narrow-minded. If you're trying to tell me there wasn't any other way for them to handle this situation you're very naive. What kind of example does it set that now people are allowed to kill people as long as they say they thought they might reach for a gun? It shouldn't be any different for police, if anything we should hold them to a higher standard. I have nothing against police, but defending them in what is quite possibly a poor judgment call is not a good solution to building support for them. Sometimes you just have to admit fault.
