More than 8,000 drivers went on strike in the Big Apple, which left 150,000 kids looking for other ways to get to school.
The union says they want job security for current employees. Transit Union President, Michael Cord said “We have the support of the parents. I hope we don’t lose it. I say to the parents tell the mayor to put the EPP back in. Get us back to work. We want to get out there and take care of their children. The mayor can change.”
Until the strike is over, the city plans to issue metro passes for students to take public transportation to school.
