Advice on starting a small business

Fox 43 got some advice on starting up a small business tom a successful small business owner, the Mid-Atlantic Administrator from the United States Small Business Administration and a small business mentor.

Richard Snyder Executive V.P., Marketing and Sales for Z-Band, Inc. in Carlisle, PA . They make video distribution systems that take satellite and cable television into an electronic box and amplify the signal to provide the full spectrum of cable, satellite or internally generated television. Z-Band started 5 years ago, since then they have expended adding two new employees in the past year. Their product is used internationally and in well known companies like JP Morgan, BET and Sesame Workshop. Locally, they do video distribution for Hollywood Casino, York Hospital and Gettysburg Hospital.

Natalia Olson-Urtecho is the Small Business Administration Mid-Atlantic Region Administrator.  She serves Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C., a population of about 30 million people. She has more than 15 years of experience working with international, region and local businesses. She tours small business faculties about once a week.

Martin Brill is the program manager for the Kutztown University Small Business Development Center.  He works with existing business, as well as start ups. At the Small Business Development Center they will go through classes to understand their business plan, focus, skills, and resources.  The Center helps small business be successful and thrive.
