The cold weather didn’t bother hundreds of brave people in York County on Saturday morning.
They gathered at the Susquehanna River in Wrightsville and ran into the frigid water for a good cause. This year’s Polar Bear Plunge benefitted the York County Special Olympics.
One participant says it wasn’t too bad once you hit the water.
“It felt great, the worst part is waiting to get in. Once you get in, you hit that cold water, everything just turns numb,” said Jeff Heidlebaugh.
The Polar Bear Plunge was supposed to take place last weekend, but was postponed because of hazardous river conditions.
