CNN- Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is announcing today (Wednesday) that he has authorized a new military medal for “extraordinary actions” that have taken place “not necessarily on the battlefield,” a Pentagon official confirmed to CNN. The announcement will come at Panetta’s final news conference this afternoon.
The official said the award is aimed at acknowledging actions by military personnel operating unmanned drones and also those involved in cyberwarfare. The medal is named the “Distinguished Warfare Medal.” It will rank above the Bronze Star.

I imagine working a computer out of harm's way trumps valor on the battlefield.

My Dad was in the 29th Division 116 Inf first wave at Omaha Beach and was awarded the Bronze Star.
My country is now telling me a computer geek is braver?
Shame on you

I wonder what branch of the military Mr. Panetta served? Probably the same branch as our useless leader.
