Police in Lancaster have arrested a man they say is responsible for a shooting on March 24th in the city. Fidel Montanez, 39, of Lancaster Township, is charged with with Criminal Attempt, Aggravated Assault and Recklessly Endangering Another Person, for shooting a 21 year-old man in the leg during an altercation in the rear parking lot of a club, located at 243 West King Street around 4am on the 24th. The fight began as a mouth-battle that escalated into a physical altercation between two groups of people who’d been kicked out of the club.
Multiple witnesses identified Montanez as the man who went to a parked car and retrieved a gun, firing it several times, first in the air and then several additional times at the victim and the group of people he was with, striking the victim in the leg.
Bail was set at $100,000.00 cash. A Bail Bondsman posted bail and Montanez was subsequently released.
