Flags honor war heroes

People in York County take time to honor those who sacrificed their lives, to protect our freedoms.
The Afghanistan War Flag Memorial was re-established Saturday morning at the Prospect Hill Cemetery in North York.
Families who lost loved ones in Afghanistan and Iraq took part.
American flags representing 2200 lives lost were put in place.
The group also placed 296 state flags to memorialize Pennsylvania’s fallen heroes.
“We need to honor those who answer the call, whether we support official decisions collectively or individually, we need to honor that sacrifice, so we wanted to create here kind of a non-political area where people can just come and respect those who have answered the call,” said Jack Sommer, with Prospect Hill Cemetery.
“We want people to realize the sacrifices our sons or daughters have made and that they never be forgotten. That’s one of our worst fears, is that they’ll be forgotten,” added Barbara Benard with American Gold Star Mothers, Inc.
The war flag memorial was established in 2005.

They just had to get that PC comment in there, eh. Fine BUT, I have not forgotten those who died to allow such cowardly remarks. They didn't just die in Iraq and Afghanistan, they began fighting and dying in 1776 and don't anyone ever forget that.
