Severe weather causes severe problems at a home in Columbia Borough Friday evening. A lightning strike is cited as the cause of a fire that broke out at the home in the 900 block of Chestnut Street. It happened at about 8:14 pm. The first company to arrive on the scene reported a working fire in the roof of the home. The residents weren’t at home when the fire started.
Columbia Consolidated fire company crews were assisted by fire crews from West Hempfield and Hellam, York County.
