A sign on southbound Route 222 in Lancaster lets you know the town of “Epharta” is two miles ahead. PennDOT spokesman Michael Crochunis says the sign, one of six posted just last week, will be fixed by the contractor. The signs cost $2,114 to make. The repairs will cost between $800-$1,200.
The sign will remain up and contractors will fit new aluminum lettering over the error.
