Military men and women are guests of honor at Pinchot State Park in York County today.
Wounded Warrior day was held at the park, it featured outdoor activities for service members who were wounded in the line of duty. Also other veterans and their families got the chance to go kayaking, biking, fishing, hiking and much more. Experts in accessible recreation were also on hand to help make the outdoor fun and adaptable for veterans with disabilities.
“The idea behind it is to introduce our veterans to different outdoor activities in which they can participate, as well as help our veterans to reconnect with family and friends in this beautiful setting here at Gifford Pinchot State Park “
The water certainly provided a serene setting in addition to the sports activities, demonstrations by service and search and rescue dogs were also performed.
