Authorities have detained two people following a police chase and crash in Lancaster City early Saturday morning. Officers tried to pull over the driver of a stolen vehicle along the first block of N. Mary Street around 1:30 a.m.
Instead of stopping, the driver sped off and crashed onto a sidewalk near High and Prospect Streets, police said. The driver fled on foot and escaped from officers.
Investigators say two passengers, an adult female and juvenile, were arrested.
Police have charged the adult with receiving stolen property. The juvenile was released to her parents and will be charged through the juvenile courts.
The driver of the stolen vehicle remains at large.
