Some children in Lancaster honored Doctor King through arts and crafts on Monday.  The YWCA hosted its 8th annual Martin Luther King Jr. event for preschool and elementary aged children in its gymnasium along North Lime Street in Lancaster.  Children took part in activities including arts and crafts focused on Doctor King’s message of equality for all.

Monica Kirchner, the school-age child care director says, “Today we all just take away that we are all the same, no matter what color or shape or size and that is one of the things that with the younger ones we stress.  It doesn’t matter the color of our skin, we are all friends.  The kids are excited, they like a celebration, so that’s always a fun way to celebrate Doctor King with them.”
