Police in Dauphin County charge a Reading woman with theft. The theft was reported yesterday by the Metro Bank branch in the 3800 block of Paxton Street. According to the bank, on November 29, 2013, $1,545.41 was debited from the account of Holly Gdowik, 43, for a transaction with US Airways.
Gdowik disputed the transaction, and Metro Bank credited her account with the same amount while they conducted their investigation into the transaction. US Airways later credited the account with $1,545.41, which would allow Metro Bank to recover the credit they had made of the same amount. However, when Metro Bank recovered their credited amount, the account became overdrawn by $1,523.42.
Metro Bank attempted to contact Gdowik in reference to the overdrawn amount, but she did not respond to their notifications. Gdowik was arrested today and arraigned on a charge of Theft by Deception.
