The York-Adams Chapter of the American Red Cross at 2 p.m. today will be opening a shelter at the York County School of Technology, 2179 S. Queen St.  in York Township. The shelter will provide food and a warm place to stay overnight for those unable to remain in their homes.

The Red Cross will be opening a shelter in Lancaster County as well.

The shelter will be located at the Living Hope Church Center at 2823 Columbia Ave.

The Red Cross estimates the shelter will be open and accepting people by 3:00 PM today. Residents are asked not to go there until after 3:00 PM.

A Warming Station has been opened in the East Petersburg area. It is located at the WJTL radio station 1875 Junction Rd.

This is a warming station for people in that area to get out of the cold. It is not a shelter that can accommodate people overnight. The warming station is open now and accepting residence.

A warming station will be opening at 4:00 PM in Paradise Twp. The location is at the Paradise Twp Community Building, 6 Londonvale Rd.

This is a warming station and not a shelter, but they will be open over night for anyone needing to get out of the cold. There will not be any sleeping accommodations.

They will have water available for anyone needing to fill jugs to take back to their residence.
