A high speed chase covering two states ends with the arrest of a Franklin County man wanted on outstanding warrants.  The chase began at 3:49 pm this afternoon when Washington Township Police spotted Joshua David Gingell, 25, in the area of Buchanan Trail East and Midvale Road.  Gingell was wanted by the Franklin County Sheriff Department on a Failure to Appear Warrant on charges that included Accidents Involving Death/Personal Injury, Accidents Involving Death/Personal Injury while not Properly Licensed, Hit & Run, and Driving with No Incense.

When officers attempted to stop Gingell, he fled south on Midvale Road, passing vehicles in a no passing zone at a high rate of speed.  The chase continued into Maryland on Route 418 towards Leitersburg in the opposite lane. Maryland State Police joined in the pursuit which hit speeds topping 95 miles per hour. Gingell executed a u-turn on Maryland Route 418 and headed back into Pennsylvania.  Pennsylvania State Police and a helicopter joined in the pursuit. Police were finally able to intercept Gingell near the intersection of Rattlesnake Run Road and Old Forge Road in Michaux State Park.

In addition to warrant charges, Gingell is charged with multiple traffic violations including Felony Fleeing and Eluding.  He was sent to Franklin County Prison.
