Dan Connolly is a York County resident who covers the Orioles for the Baltimore Sun.   Connolly was part of a panel offering a free baseball talk at Zion Lutheran Church in Manchester Township Wednesday Night.   Former New York Mets and Baltimore Orioles Vice-President Jim Duquette and MASN and Sports Illustrated analyst Mel Antonen joined Connolly during the question and answer session with local baseball fans.   Connolly says the Orioles are ripe for a rebound now that they’ve addressed their need for starting pitchers.

“Finally, in the last couple of days, they’ve done that,” he explained.  “Suk-Min Yoon could end up in the bullpen but it’s a guy they were interested in from Korea.   They signed him to a deal and then the big one, Ubaldo Jimenez.  He’s a guy who is a top of the rotation guy if he’s pitching well.”

This is the fourth year Connolly has hosted the event at Zion Lutheran.    He was recently named Maryland Sportswriter of the Year by the Associated Press.
