COOLING DOWN

After a mild, spring day, temperatures are on the way down in the wake of a cold front. Through tonight, temperatures fall through the 60s, 50s, and 40s, all the way down into the upper 20s to middle 30s. Some clouds stream in late during the overnight period, but it is dry. This is due to some moisture that passes us to the south on Sunday. A few drops could come out of it close to the Mason-Dixon Line, otherwise it’s mainly cloudy during the morning and early afternoon. The clouds begin to thin out later in the day. High temperatures fall below seasonal averages in the lower to middle 40s.

UNSEASONABLE COLD—AND SNOW CHANCE!

The 30s are back as we begin the new workweek. High pressure keeps conditions on the dry side Monday. A developing coastal storm is possible Tuesday, but right now, the computer models keep it out to sea. This means we could get clipped by some light snow accumulations during the daytime, on the order of a couple inches. Since the sun angle is as strong in March as it is in September, it will have difficulty sticking unless on grassy and colder surfaces during the day. We’ll continue to monitor this, because any changes in track over the next 24 to 48 hours could shift the snow west or east. Check for updates. Wednesday, colder air is reinforced, keeping temperatures in the 30s despite a return to some sunshine.

WARMING UP AGAIN

The spring temperature swings continue. A milder flow begins to establish itself Thursday, warming temperatures into the upper 40s to near 50 degrees for many! The warming continues through Saturday, with temperatures warming into the 60s once again. We’ll have to contend with some rain showers too; our next storm system brings a chance for showers late in the day Friday, lasting through Saturday.

Enjoy the rest of you weekend!
