According to South Regional Police a 16-year-old boy robbed a Choice Outlet/Exxon in Shrewsbury so he could help pay bills.

Police are charging the teen with armed robbery stemming from the incident which occurred on March 6 at the convenience store located at 4 East Forrest Street Avenue. The juvenile used a BB gun to demand money from the clerk, and told the clerk he was sorry and was only doing it because his mother was ill, police said.

Police are not releasing the juveniles name because of his age.

He was released on a $25,000 unsecured bail.
