Erica and Tracey Strickland say they’ve been dreaming about this day for five years.

The couple exchanged vows before their friends and family at The Unitarian Church of Harrisburg Saturday, making them one of the first same-sex couples to legally wed in Dauphin County, since the ban was overturned Tuesday.

Reverend Posa says some days filling out a marriage license can feel like a tedious task, but on Saturday, he says he was more than happy to do so.

“To finally put that in writing and make it official was a real honor for me,” he said.

As for the newlyweds, they say the feeling is surreal.

“I just can’t believe it,” Tracey Strickland said.  “It’s like a dream come true. You dream of these moments and to actually have it happen and up to that minute, that second, it’s like, this is really happening? It’s just wonderful,” she said.

Her new wife, Erica added, “Our love is no different than anyone else’s and we’re thankful and proud of Pennsylvania that they made the decision that it can now be recognized.”
