Newberry Township police have issued an arrest warrant for a man wanted in a convenience store smash and grab burglary on May 24.

David Roy Guisewhite, 54, is facing numerous charges including burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and possession of instruments of crime.

According to police reports, Guisewhite used a rock to smash the front glass door of the Sunoco Gas Station located at 2200 Old Trail Road in Newberry Township last month.  Guisewhite stole a large amount of cigarettes worth more than $3,900, police said.

On June 3, police located the vehicle Guisewhite used during the burglary in Newberry Township. When police attempted to pull Guisewhite over–he fled on foot and was last seen in the area of Old Trail Road and Yocumtown Road.

If you’ve seen Guisewhite, police are asking people to contact 911 immediately.

Guisewhite is previously from New York–but police believe he may still be in the central Pennsylvania area.

Investigators believe Guisewhite is behind several other burglaries in  York County and Maryland.
