UPDATE:  According to arresting documents released this evening, while out on bail, Gregory Hess solicited a man, identified in the charging document only as CI #2, whom Hess had met while in York County Prison, to kill the confidential informant, known as CI #1, from the first case.

Hess knew the name of CI #1 and his home address. He also gave CI #2, two pieces of paper with handwritten notes with the directions to CI #1’s home, the name “Greg Hess”, a phone number and the name “Toby” and a phone number.

The documents said that Toby Hess’ 18 year old son, had taken a cell phone photo of CI #1 while he testified during Hess’ preliminary hearing in April. Hess told CI #2 the photo would be available from Toby for CI #2 to identify CI #1.

Hess was arraigned Wednesday afternoon, and the judge denied him bail.
