Berks child porn sweep results in 13 arrests

A Berks County investigation that spanned a year and a half results in thirteen arrests for possessing or disseminating child pornography via the internet. The arrests were announced at a press conference today in Reading. The District Attorney’s Child Abuse Unit and the Lower Heidelberg Township Police Department handled the countywide sweep in conjunction with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Detectives served warrants on thirteen individuals throughout Berks county, seizing computers, cell phones and other electronic equipment containing pornographic images. Investigators say the devices contain thousands of child pornographic images.

William Floriani, 22, of the 1300 block of Locust Street, Reading

Justin Jones, 31, of the 1500 block of Ridge Avenue, Shillington

Dale Wiliams, 47, of Hendel Street, Shillington

Skerling Herrera-Mercedes, 28, of the 100 block of West Douglass Street, Reading

Alan Miller, 53, of the 600 block of East 4th Street, Boyertown

Larry Garner, 65, of South Water Street, Womelsdorf

Timothy Repsik, 18, of Elaine Drive, Boyertown

Steven Schwartz, 47, of Winding Brook Drive, Sinking Spring

Michael Kendig, 63, of the 1800 block of South Mountain Drive, Sinking Spring

Christopher Sackal, 41, of the 100 block of Bordic Road, Exeter Township

Craig Alabovitz, 37, 1000 block of Sheerlund Road, Shillington
