Nearly 25 years ago to the day Millersburg resident Tracy Kroh disappeared in Dauphin County. For years the case has been cold, until now. “That same summer a young woman who looked somewhat similar to Tracy Kroh was approached here in Millersburg Square, she was grabbed from behind in what we classify as an attempted kidnapping” said Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico.

Police said the woman, who was able to escape from her would-be kidnapper, was scared to come forward. However she recently overcame that fear thinking it would help the case. Investigators believe the two incidents may be connected. Before Tracy disappeared she was seen using a public telephone off of Millersburg Square and her car was also found near the square. A few years later some of her belongings were also found by a farmer in Washington Township, but aside from that there were no credible leads until the new information about the other girls attempted kidnapping came to light.

Tracy’s sisters still live with a sense of fear despite the time that’s passed.  Her sister Tammy Hoffman said “it does make you more paranoid.” Especially now that they have kids of their own. Tracy’s other sister Kim Weber said “my daughters are the age I was when Tracy disappeared and my oldest daughter is the age that Tracy was when she disappeared.”

Both Tammy and Kim want the truth and the law enforcement officers working the case want the same. “Come forward now. No questions asked, no hard feelings. We want to know what anybody might know about Tracy’s disappearance” said Marsico. If you have any information about Tracy’s disappearance contact the Pennsylvania State Police. All calls can remain anonymous.
