A homeless man turned himself in to police and reportedly confessed to stabbing a person in Lancaster City after getting into a fight with them Sunday afternoon.

Maurice A. Swann, 30, of no fixed address, came to the Lancaster City police department on Sunday night following a stabbing on South Water Street earlier that day. That is when he reportedly confessed to having stabbed the victim.

Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of South Water Street after receiving a call around 2:30 p.m. about a fight. Police found a 30-year-old Lancaster man near the scene with two stab wounds to his torso. The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Swann has been charged with aggravated assault and tampering with evidence. He was taken to Lancaster County Prison on $75,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 19.
