Men in Hanover, York County slipped on high heels for a good cause Friday night. The YWCA held the “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event starting and ending at the Warehime-Myers Mansion.
The event supports YWCA Hanover’s Safe Home Domestic Violence Program and the YWCA York’s Still Waters Shelter. Many men completed the mile in women’s shoes and some went all the way in dresses and wigs.
“It reall gives you a feeling for what women go through, and they need support, because there should be no domestic violence against women,” says participant George Hubbard, who dressed as a bride with the help of his wife.
