State police arrested a Lykens man after police say he was carrying a knife and a big stick around trying to start a fight. The incident happened Friday Afternoon along the 100 block of South Second Street in Lykens, police said.

Police say Robert Beaver,48, ignored state troopers commands and reached for a knife on his belt in an attempt to assault one of the troopers. Troopers were able to take Beaver into custody by force.

Beaver is now charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, simple assault and harassment.

He is currently in Dauphin County prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.
