Lancaster Police have arrested a suspect in a weekend robbery and stabbing. Police say Elswart Bodden is the man who sent a woman to the hospital with stab wounds all over her body and robbed her apartment.  It happened on the 400-block of West Orange Street, just after midnight Sunday.
When police arrived, they say a man driving a black Honda Civic sped out of the area, hitting an unmarked cruiser as he drove off. Several officers pursued the driver, but eventually had to call off the chase because it became too dangerous for the public.
Back at the scene, other officers found a 29-year old Lancaster woman with several stab wounds all over her body. She was rushed to the hospital for surgery.
Investigators identified Bodden through fingerprints lifted from a box of Newport cigarettes found on the back porch of the victim’s apartment. They also analysed Lancaster Safety Coalition video from the area. Bodden’s girlfriend told police Bodden was driving her Honda Civic and had admitted to her that he had run into the police cruiser. He told her he fled because he doesn’t have a license.
