Former teacher, coach accused of sexually assaulting students, selling synthetic marijuana

EAST BERLIN, Pa. (WPMT)-Pennsylvania State Police have charged a former Bermudian Springs teacher accused of giving synthetic marijuana to students and sexually assaulting two pupils, investigators said.

Nathan L. Stock, 38, of East Berlin, is charged with institutional sexual assault, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor and indecent assault.

Authorities began investigating Stock back in Nov. 2013 when one current and one former student came forward with the allegations.

According to court documents, Stock supplied two male students with synthetic marijuana on several occasions between 2012 and 2014. The boys told investigators Stock would drop the drugs off at their house or toss it out of his car as he drove by. The students also admitted that they smoked synthetic marijuana with Stock at their home at least 10 to 20 different times, court documents state.

Stock also would spend the night at the boy’s home–playing video games until he fell asleep in their bedroom, according to the criminal complaint. One victim alleged that  he caught Stock touching another boy’s penis while the boy slept on two separate occasions.

The boy also told police that Stock touched him inappropriately when he was 16 years-old while spending the night at Stock’s home along the 1600 block of Stoney Point Road. According to court documents, the boy awoke to find Stock playing with his penis.

When  administrators with Bermudian Springs School District confronted Stock with the allegations–Stock admitted to spending the night at student’s home and having students over to his residence. He also confessed that he was paying for current and former student’s cell phones. He told administrators that he was aware of students using drugs and failed to report it, court documents state.

Stock, an eighth-grade teacher and assistant wrestling coach at Bermudian Springs Middle School, was terminated from his position during a Aug. 20 meeting, according to reports by the Evening Sun.

He was arrested and taken to Adams County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 17.
