Sleeping homeowners awaken by early morning burglar

MANCHESTER TWP., Pa.- Northern York County Regional Police Department responded shortly after 6 am Thursday to a reported burglary in progress in the 400 block of Greenleaf Court in Manchester Township.

An elderly female resident reported that she awoke to find an unknown man crouched in her bedroom. The resident called out to the man and he stood up. The intruder told the victim not to yell and that he wouldn’t hurt her. The woman then ran out the room and called out to her adult daughter who was sleeping in another room The two women then fled the home out a back door and called police. They were not injured.

Responding Officers checked the home and found no one inside. They discovered that the man got into the home by placing a chair under the front window.  He then pried the window open and got inside.  He then took a wooden mantle clock. The suspect is believed to have got away through the front door of the home.

The only description of the suspect is that he is male and was wearing all black.
