October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month.
One in every 691 babies born in the United States has the genetic condition, but thanks to advances in medicine and technology, people with the condition are able to lead healthy lives and do normal activities — like going to school.
FOX43 Photojournalist Rebecca Knier visited a Life Skills Support classroom, and sat down with a teacher who has a passion for teaching students with learning disabilities.
