A York County community is showing its support for victims of domestic violence.

Folks laced up their running shoes and hit the pavement on Sunday. It was part of the "Blinded by Love" 5K Run/Walk held at John Rudy County Park in East Manchester Township.

The event was organized by  West York Area High School Jordyn Gentzler for a senior graduation project, but she says it's about more than just getting a grade.

"It affected me personally," Gentzler said, " I know people who have been victims of domestic violence, and I really want to stand up for them even though they don't have a voice, I want to stand up for them."

Money raised by the 5K will go to the York County Children's Advocacy Center and to help a former West York Area High School student who was affected by domestic violence.
