A local business is bringing Christmas cheer to children and their families in the area.
Jolly old Saint Nicholas joined Ashley Furniture Homestores' annual "A Hope to Dream Holiday Party" in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County on Friday. This year, 50 kids in need received brand new beds. They were also gifted with a mattress, box spring, and other essentials for a good night's sleep including sheets, pillows, and comforters.
"It's neat," Ashley Home Furniture Visual Merchandising Director, Allison Gutierrez said, "The stories that we hear are great. It gives you an attitude of gratitude for what you have, and also for what we can provide."
Children also got to enjoy some holiday treats while Santa read them a Christmas story. For every mattress sold at Ashley Furniture Homestore of Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, and York, a donation will be made aiding the delivery of a mattress to a local child in need.
