A Dauphin County judge sentenced Jeffrey Wayne Eutzy to nine to 40 years in prison Tuesday for robbing two people in Harrisburg on their way home from church one day last year.

The District Attorney’s Office says the robbery happened Oct. 13, 2013, in the 1700 block of Green Street.

The prosecutor says Eutzy and Robert Williamson approached two girls and got their attention. Then, Eutzy produced a gun and demanded the girls’ purses. After getting them, Eutzy and Williamson ran. Police found them within an hour.

When police recovered the purses, they were missing about $35.

Judge Deborah Curcillo sentenced Eutzy after he pleaded guilty to charges including armed robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.
