UPDATE:

We have some new information this morning on a Lancaster County homicide.
Police arrested Thomas Moore last night at an apartment along the 700 block of Sterling Place in Lancaster Township.
He faces a number of charges including criminal homicide.
He is suspected of killing Conestoga Valley school teacher, Nicole Mathewson.

Police in Lancaster say the man suspected of killing a Conestoga Valley School teacher had a co-conspirator.
But that person remains unaccounted for. Nicole Mathewson, 32, was found dead Monday morning inside of her home on North Franklin Street.

Lancaster Police Chief, Keith Sadler says, "For somebody to go in her residence and murder her, that's sad for everybody."

Sadler says Marcus Anthony Rutter, 16, wasn't alone when he brutally murdered Mathewson inside of her home.

Sadler says, "We're looking in an accomplice in this crime. That investigation's not concluded, we are not sharing some stuff because the investigation is still very active."

Authorities arrested Rutter Monday night from an anonymous crime stoppers tip.

Sadler says, "This is exactly how a homicide investigation gets concluded quickly when somebody out there gets information from what's been put out."

Lancaster County District Attorney Craig Stedman calls the murder ghastly. He says he's going to push for stricter penalties on burglars.

Stedman says, "It shouldn't take an outcome like this for our system to take break-ins seriously, because if you get caught you might get a few months in jail and to me that's never been enough."

Mayor Rick Gray says violence is on the rise in the city. He'd like to set bail amounts at levels high enough to protect victims and their families.

Mayor Gray says, "This criminal action will not be tolerated nor will it be ignored."

Mayor Gray is asking the Lancaster community to stand together against this kind of violence.
