CAERNARVON TOWNSHIP (WPMT)-A 27-year-old man has been charged for the July sexual assault of a 14-year-old Amish girl in Lancaster County, state police said.

On Wednesday--authorities charged  Justin J. Schwanke, of Goodville, with burglary and two counts of indecent assault. The alleged incident took place along the 1000 block of Narvon Road in Caernarvon Township in July of 2014.

The girl told police that she was asleep in the basement of her home around midnight. When she awoke, a man was sitting on her bed inappropriately touching her, according to the criminal complaint.  The girl screamed and the man fled the home through a basement door.

In October 2014--state police  learned that East Earl Township Police were investigating a similar break-in that occurred along the 400 block of Weaverland Valley Road on Oct. 1.

According to court records, the woman told police that she awoke around 11:30 p.m. to a person rubbing her hand and arms. She also said the man was whispering in her ear. She screamed and he fled through a basement door, court records state.

Authorities linked Schwanke to the crime through  fingerprints left behind on the woman's basement window.

Schwanke is charged with  burglary, criminal trespassing, loitering and prowling at night and harassment in the East Earl Township incident.

He was arrested and taken to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.

A preliminary  hearing is scheduled for Jan. 30.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call State Police at 717-299-7650.
