UPDATE: The Lancaster County District Attorney updated the charges against Gregorio Orrostieta to include Criminal Homicide in the death Karlie Hall. An autopsy revealed strangulation as the cause of death of the 18 year old Hall. She also suffered multiple traumatic injuries.
An arrest has been made in the death of a Millersville University student. According to the Lancaster County District Attorney's office, 18-year old Karlie Hall was found dead inside her dorm room in Bard Hall. The discovery was made around 5 a.m. Hall was a freshman from Chadd's Ford, Pa.
Her death is being considered suspicious. Because her exact cause of death was not immediately apparent, police will await additional information from the autopsy before further actions are taken. An autopsy will be performed Monday morning.
Karlie Hall’s boyfriend, 19-year old Gregorio Orrostieta of Kennett Square, PA, has been charged with Aggravated Assault in connection with her death. An investigation showed there was a physical altercation between the two in the early morning hours. Orrostieta is in Lancaster County Prison.
Law enforcement is confident that there is no danger to the campus community.
