SILVER SPRING TOWNSHIP (WPMT)-What began as a routine traffic accident investigation in Cumberland County on Sunday ended with the arrest of a man after police found 77 bags of marijuana hidden inside his vehicle, investigators said.

David Henry, of Harrisburg, is charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence and traffic violations. He was arrested and taken to Cumberland County Prison.

Officers were responded to an accident at Hogestown Road and Woods Drive in Silver Spring Township just before 12:35 a.m. Sunday. They found Henry under the influence of marijuana, police said.

Investigators searched Henry’s vehicle and found 77 bags of marijuana hidden inside a secret compartment in his vehicle, police said. The marijuana weighed approximately six ounces.  Police said the bags were packaged for sale purposes.

Now you know why people flee in hit-and-run wrecks. This guy felt his secret compartment was not going to be found or else his vehicle was incapacitated in the wreck.
Whether they hit a pedestrian or mow down a buggy, they get out of there, hide the stash and sober up. IF they get caught later, the charges aren’t as bad as DUI or possession.
If fleeing isn’t a highly punishable felony, it ought to be.
