NEW YORK, NY(WPMT) Amtrak says Northeast Corridor service will operate on a modified schedule Tuesday due to the forecasted winter storm.

While the number of frequencies has been changed between New York City and Boston or Washington., D.C., and points in Virginia, a combination of Acela Express and Northeast Regional service is still planned to operate.

The full schedule of Downeaster Service between Brunswick, Maine, and Boston (North Station); Shuttle Service between Springfield, Mass., and New Haven Conn.; Empire Service between New York City and Buffalo/Niagara Falls; Keystone Service between Harrisburg and Philadelphia/New York City; and Piedmont Service between Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C., is planned.

Also planned to operate is the Lorton, Va.,-Sanford, Fla., Auto Train, but the Palmetto is canceled in its entirely, with passengers to be accommodated on other Amtrak trains on its Savannah, Ga.,-New York City route.

The Boston-Albany/Rensselaer section (Train 448 & 449) of the Chicago-New York/Boston Lake Shore Limited (Train 48 & 49) will be represented by chartered buses as alternate transportation.
