A standoff in the 400 block of Lancaster Avenue in Lancaster Wednesday ended peacefully with a 35-year-old woman being taken into custody, police say.

They received a call after an attempt to serve a mental health warrant was unsuccessful.

Police tried to contact the woman several times with a PA system but didn't responded.

They heard the woman say she was going to get a gun. And they treated this as a barricade situation.

Police used flash grenades outside the home around 9 p.m. Shortly after that, police were able to get inside and bring the woman out. No one was injured, police said.

Police say over the past several days officers have been in the neighborhood dealing with issues regarding the woman in the home.

Homes in the area were evacuated.

The woman was taken to a local hospital to undergo further medical evaluation. At this time the woman does face any criminal charges. Her name is not being release due to the medical nature of the incident police said.
