EAST YORK, Pa. -- Dog attacks are a year-round problem for postal carriers. But warmer weather and increased traffic in and out of homes and fences makes confrontations more likely.
To help combat the problem, the U.S. Postal services takes a proactive stand on preventing dog attacks.
Usually, when someone walks by or onto your property, you'll know because your dog barks. But what happens when the bark turns into a bite?
The post office is prepared to educate carriers about steps they can take to minimize the chance of a dog attack.
The York County Sheriff Canine Officer joins other officials to talk about dog attack prevention at the East York Post Office, on Concord Road.
