CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. – A Middletown man is killed in a work related accident in Camp Hill Borough.  Cumberland County Coroner Charley Hall says the victim, Michael Shaud, 53, was killed while trimming trees at an apartment complex for Shull’s Tree Trimming Inc. of Middletown. It happened at around 10:00 Thursday morning.

Shaud was cleaning up debris on the ground while another employee was up in a bucket trimming trees in the 100 block of September Drive. For reasons unknown, the bucket boom malfunctioned causing the bucket and boom to collapse striking Shaud.  He was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday morning.

The other employee was thrown from the bucket and suffered serious injuries. He was flown by Life Lion to the Hershey Medical Center. His identity has not been released.

The accident remains under investigation by the Cumberland County Coroner’s Office, Camp Hill Police and  the federal agency OSHA.
